Introduction 簡介
In order to promote overseas Mandarin education, respond to the global trend of learning Mandarin, and react to the changes in the Mandarin learning environment, Silicon Valley Chinese School established the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning. The program is based on the whole language method, a learner-centered teaching philosophy. Our principle is to provide a supportive environment and create meaningful interaction, which makes the language learning easy. Learning Mandarin is easy when it is real and natural, whole, sensible, interesting, relevant; when learners can relate to it, when it is a part of a real event, when it has social utility, and when it has purpose for the learner.
為推展海外華語文教育，因應全球華語文趨勢，以及華語學習環境改變等情勢，矽谷中文學校成立臺灣華語文學習中心，期以全語言教育理念和教學法，以學習者為中心，讓學習者能即時在生活裡運用所學，進而達到學習目的。
Courses 課程特色
Classes at the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning – Silicon Valley Chinese School are divided into 9 levels, from beginner’s level to advanced level. International Competitiveness: English and Mandarin+ Digital Collaboration.
New students, excepts beginner class students, will take a placement test before school begins for us to assign them to the class that best suits their levels. All classes are taught in Mandarin/English and use Pinyin for pronunciation. We emphasize all four language skills, listening, speaking, reading, and writing/typing.
Students will not only develop their ability to listen, speak, read, write using Mandarin, but they will have an opportunity to learn beyond the language, enriching their understanding of Taiwanese culture and customs.
矽谷中文學校臺灣華語文學習中心是中華民國僑務委員會支持補助的對外華語文計畫，旨在培養海外成人華語文人才，建構優質華語文學習環境。義大利導演暨劇作家費里尼曾説：語言成就人生視野，反映了臺灣華語文學習中心的特色，即，提供學習者國際視野和國際競爭力。
